Hi, I was driving down Benvenue Road around noon today and saw a small orange tabby kitten running under a truck at the intersection of Benvenue Road and Jeffreys Road.  He was terrfied, but I managed to save him before he got hit and now I have to find him a home.  The kitten is at Riverside getting a bath, shots, dewormed, etc.  My guess is that he's about 7 or 8 weeks old.  He's very sweet and loving and would make a great pet.  I'm in no position to take on a new kitten right now and there is no way I can keep him.  Do you know of anyone looking for a kitten or anyone that can foster him?  I'll pay for the treatment today and his shots and I'm even willing to pay to get him neutered, but that's all I can do.  My husband has reached his limit with me and stray cats and I need to make something happen with this kitten fast!  Please let me know if you know of anyone that can help!  If not, I may have to take him to the shelter and God knows I don't want to do that!  I get upset just thinking about it, but I couldn't leave him on Benvenue Road to fend for himself.  HELP!!!

Update:
As it turns out, he is actually a she.  She was given a bath at Riverside and she's being treated for worms, ear mites and an upper respiratory infection right now.  Her age was estimated at 7 weeks and she weighs about 2 pounds.  She is negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids.  She's very skinny and very hungry, but she has a great appetite, so I'm sure she'll be adorable once her infections clear up and she puts on some weight.  The vet said to wait a week to give her Revolution to avoid chemical overload, but I have the tube and it can go with her if she gets adopted before next week along with her food, bed, etc.  Anyone with questions can email me Nichole Anderson nicholeanderson1016@yahoo.com or call me at 252.452.9926.  Thanks again for your help!

Louie and Merlin

With a very heavy heart we are asking for your help.  We are a family of eight.  Mom, dad, daughter, a dog and four cats.  All pets are rescues.  Dad has taken a job in another state and we must move.  The rental will only take one dog and one cat.  We are being quite sneaky with the second.  We absolutely need to find someone to take our younger two of the cats.  Both neutered, front declawed, properly spoiled and black with a white patch on their chest (even tho they are in no way related).  We have loved them both for six and fours years.

The first is Louie and the third is Merlin.

We have begged, pleaded and scoured all avenues to find homes for them.  Dr. Cameron suggested we contact you for help.  He is a personal friend of ours and if you need a reference from him on us or our situation, please do call him.

The thought of the shelter is just too heartbreaking.  We all know what happens then.

We will make a donation to you to offset the cost of taking them in.  All of their shots are up to date with records from our vet from day one.

Please help us and thank you.

Toby

Toby is a rescued kitten, born in June 2010 in my backyard.  His mother
was a stray pure bred Himalayan and his father is a feral cat.  Neither parent
would allow me to come close.  Now his gentle  mother has been adopted.  Toby's temperment is like his mother's - easy going and low key.  Toby enjoys having his amazingly soft fur stroked, playing with his wand toys with me and living the quiet life.  He lives indoors with several other cats.

Toby has been neutered, has had his rabies and kitten vaccines.  His
mother is feleukemia negative, so the vet concludes that he is also.  Toby is
looking for his forever home.  Call Bettie at 937-8266 or email
bettiek@suddenlink.net.

Beau

I need help to find my baby a home. I got Beau from a friend who found
him out in the Dortches area, she saw a man pitch him out of a car going
down the road. I have taken him to the vet, he is about 12 weeks old now
and has had his first 2 sets of shots. Beau is miniature pincher and
Jack Russell mix. A very sweet boy, however I do not have the room to
give him the exercise that he needs to release all the energy that he
has. Any help that you could give with this would be great. Please contact: Toni Webb at
252-442-9643
or 877-525-5210 or tonya.webb@ams-loancenter.com

Isabella

I am writing to you out of desperation.  I have a Ragdoll kitten who has chronic diarrhea.  We have spent many hours at the vet and have yet to find a true cause or cure.  Her name is Isabella and she is a wonderful loving kitten who loves to cuddle and play.  I have two cats and this one requires a special diet.  I had been feeding the other cat on the counter, but she has learned to jump on the counter and it is becoming increasing more difficult to keep her out of my other cats food and it is critical that she maintain a strict diet.  I would like to find her a good home with someone who can give her lots of love and can manage her illness.  She is 6 months old, spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and otherwise healthy.  She eats like a horse but does require sensitive stomach food and pumpkin in her diet daily.  She has that wonderful Ragdoll personality and beautiful blue eyes. I have sent off her papers to have her registered and will gladly transfer the registry to her new owner.

I don't want her to go to just anyone, I really think she needs a home where she can't get into foods that could be bad for her and someone who has the love and patience to work though her condition.  I'm attaching a photo as you can see, she's quite beautiful.

We live in Bailey, and will happily deliver the kitten to her new home within reasonable driving distance.  She is currently taking medication for inflammatory bowel disease and we will continue to treat her as long as she stays with us and continues to require it.  Additional medication or treatment may be necessary depending on the final diagnosis.

Please post her picture with my contact information myra.s.lancaster@gmail.com and help me find a home for this adorable little girl.

Ashlyn

She's not easy to photograph, but she has got to be one of the sweetest cats!  I've seen this cat around the neighborhood since last winter when it snowed and she's always been really scared of people. It was obvious that she was starving, so I began feeding her and finally got her to trust me enough to touch her.  All she wants is a little food and a lot of love.  I can't keep her and it's going to get cold soon.   I would love for this little lady to find a home before she has to spend another winter, and possibly snow storm, outside.  I took her to the vet today and she has been spayed.  She is Feline Leukemia negative and Felive HIV negative and she has now been vaccinated for rabies (I have the tag) and distemper and treated for tapeworms.  Luckily, she doesn't have any other parasites, fleas or ear mites.
Update:  Ashlyn has found her forever home!

R.V.
My name is RV and I was hanging around a camp area in Ashville NC, I kept going to a camp area that had a large RV.  They would pet me and feed me treats.  One day, they were packing up their things and I thought maybe I could go with them, so I decided to jump up in the engine compartment and go along for a ride.  It was scary riding there.  We just kept going and going.  Finally, we stopped at a busy gas station near Rocky Mount NC.  I noticed that there was a lady in a jeep that was waiting to pull in and I decided to jump down to the ground, she saw me and pointed it out to the man with the RV.  The man in the RV saw me and said to the lady in the jeep, "Oh my, that is the same cat that was in Ashville."  He did not know what to do.  He picked me up and put me on a small piece of grass, but I was scared.  He said he could not take me with him, so the lady in the jeep offered to take me home and try to find me a home.  She took me in the house and put me in a small room. The next day, she took me to the doctor where they gave me a shot, a bath, cleaned my ears and said I was very healthy.  They also told her I was 3 months old.  We went back to the house and I got to be out with the other cats.  I love people, and I am very cute.  I even jumped in bed with her and slept on the pillow with her.  I hope that I can find a home.  I will be a good kitty for someone.
Update:  RV has found his  forever home!
