Dear friends, family and supporters of Boy Scouts of America,
My name is J.R. Parks and I am a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 40 at Englewood United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount. I am working on my Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project, which is one of the final steps towards the achievement of the Eagle Scout rank.
For my project, I have chosen to work with the recently formed non-profit organization, Animal Crackers, to establish a pet food bank in Rocky Mount. Unfortunately, the current economic times have adversely impacted many pets and pet owners in the area. Since the options to deal with these circumstances are limited, the establishment of a pet food bank in the area will ease this burden for many people. Animal Crackers was formed by a group of concerned citizens who want to make a positive impact on the lives of pets and pet owners in the Rocky Mount area. This service project will assist Animal Crackers by setting up a food bank and stocking it with dog and cat food, as well as, pet bedding and other animal essentials.
In order to raise money for this project, I am selling dog and cat food that you can purchase to keep for your pet, or donate it back to my project. If you elect to keep the food, I will deliver it to you in May. If, however, you donate the food to the project, I will deliver it directly to the Animal Crackers Food Bank on English Road in Rocky Mount on your behalf. I will also conduct a donation drive in the spring where I hope to collect dog and cat food, as well as, new and gently used pet bedding and towels. All donations will go directly to my project and are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for your support.
Sincerely,
J.R. Parks
