A volunteer for the foster program could:
Provide a loving safe home for a dog or cat of their description and their time specification.
Assist in emergency pick up for abused/neglected dogs or cats. Transport dog/cat to vet and new home.
Take pictures for our website of potential pets waiting for forever home.
Contact schools and set up classroom education presentations (15 min. long).
Senior Citizen nursing homes and start a pet fostering program.
Contact local ranches and start foster program or adopt out dogs/cats.
Contact colleges and notify them of our non profit and suggest it for students community service assignments.
Post flyers in high traffic areas including churches, stores, colleges, schools & hospitals.
Recruit volunteers.
Host an event to raise awareness of our organization
Design a radio and public tv free public service announcement (PSA) 10 and 30 seconds long.
Put data in excel spreadsheets.
Find mailing and email addresses of radio and public tv stations.
Gather mailing and email addresses of local youth groups, sports groups, civic organizations, professional and employee groups, arts and cultural associations, schools, public libraries, churches, veterinarians, daycares, physical therapy and rehab centers, major companies in our community.
Put into excel spreadsheet for easy printing for mailing labels for mass mailings.
Convert our current flyer into a postcard for mass mailing.
Contact local newspaper to place an ad.
Create an E-newsletter that highlights our success stories and the pets currently needing placement. Include photos and links to pet listings (petfinder.com and on our website). Donate money specified for helping with pet medical bills and things needed for the foster program.
