Pet Food Bank Committee

Animal Crackers has created a Pet Food Bank to help provide pet food to pet owners who need help.  This is a temporary service that we provide to the Rocky Mount Community and beyond.  We also donate pet food to other rescue groups in the local area.  The first time a pet owner comes, they must show a photo identification and fill out a form.  They will be give pet food and/or supplies that they are in need of on a first come, first serve basis.  We receive food donated from many places and the amount and type changes.  After the first visit, the pet owner is REQUIRED to have spayed/neutered their pet or have an appointment to do so.  If the pet has already been "fixed", they must bring documentation of this, or have proof of a scheduled appointment to have this done to receive more food.

Members of this committee are involved in the following volunteer activities:
  • pick up food at various locations and bring to food bank
  • manage donation boxes at churches, Petco, Petsmart, etc.
  • work at food bank openings
  • unload deliveries
  • deliver pet food
  • pass out fliers
  • meet with families in need of help and work with them to get their pets spayed/neutered
  • work at rabies and microchip clinics at the pet food bank
  • organizational paperwork
  • make donation boxes
  • pick up donations of pet supplies from various locations
