Pet Food Bank Committee
Animal Crackers has created a Pet Food Bank to help provide pet food to pet owners who need help. This is a temporary service that we provide to the Rocky Mount Community and beyond. We also donate pet food to other rescue groups in the local area. The first time a pet owner comes, they must show a photo identification and fill out a form. They will be give pet food and/or supplies that they are in need of on a first come, first serve basis. We receive food donated from many places and the amount and type changes. After the first visit, the pet owner is REQUIRED to have spayed/neutered their pet or have an appointment to do so. If the pet has already been "fixed", they must bring documentation of this, or have proof of a scheduled appointment to have this done to receive more food.
Members of this committee are involved in the following volunteer activities:
pick up food at various locations and bring to food bank
manage donation boxes at churches, Petco, Petsmart, etc.
work at food bank openings
unload deliveries
deliver pet food
pass out fliers
meet with families in need of help and work with them to get their pets spayed/neutered
work at rabies and microchip clinics at the pet food bank
organizational paperwork
make donation boxes
pick up donations of pet supplies from various locations
